Alsace, a varied region

The Alsace has many faces and offers the perfect opportunity for the visitor who wants to experience something new -  lying between the Rhine and the Vosges, this area is typical of a border region, open to new influences whilst remaining true to its legends and traditions.
Adding to the variety of this piece of Rhineland culture are two equally exciting and yet profoundly differing towns: Colmar and Mulhouse. 
Colmar houses an inimitable national treasure:  The Unterlinden Gallery where a superb collection of Old Masters is to be found, including the famous Isenheimer Altar. 
The heart of the home of Alsacian wine nestles in Colmar's charming streets and alleys – equally rich in  nature, culture and history.
The heart of Mulhouse is innovation.  All the industrial adventures of modern times have left their mark.  The Schlumpf collection at the Cité de l'Automobile, the  National Motor Museum, is a prime example, with its wonderful collection of old timers.
